Medical massage is outcome based massage, primarily the application of specific treatment targeted to the specific problem(s). The patient presents with a diagnosis and are administered after a thorough assessment/ evaluation by our medical massage therapist with specific outcomes being the basis for treatment. Medical massage is delivered to a patient under the direction of a prescribing healthcare provider and typically paid for by a third party.
At our health center, we treat hundreds of muscular and articular injuries, with medical massage being an important part of our treatment. Our doctors always remind their therapists that ” a hardened tissue will not let a joint move without struggle”. All our patients are subject to some form of muscular therapy. Some techniques are designed to stretched muscle tissue for improved mobility, others enhance lymph and blood flow, and still others rebalance and restore normal function.
